QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Which areas do you cover?

We distribute to 10,000 residential addresses each month in Llandudno, Craig-y-Don, Craigside, Deganwy, Penrhyn Bay, Rhos-on-Sea, Colwyn Bay, Old Colwyn, Llanddulas and Abergele. The areas we visit change from month to month so please get in touch to find out what areas we will be covering next.

How many leaflets will be delivered to each property?

There will be only five ‘slots’ available per distribution area, and our distribution periods will be monthly, so a maximum of five leaflets will be delivered each month to a single household. Slots are offered and booked on a first-come, first-served basis.

There will be no competition between leaflets in a single distribution — we would not distribute advertisements for two different estate agents, or gardening services, or taxi companies for example. The only exception to this rule is for takeaways, but even then we would not distribute items for competing cuisines (eg. two Italian restaurants or Chinese takeaways).

Can I specify when I want my leaflets delivered?

Yes, providing there is availability for the dates you want. The best way to achieve this is to pre-book your distribution as far ahead as possible, even if your leaflets aren’t ready. This approach also means you can benefit from our discounts for volume bookings.

Can you deliver other articles, such as product samples?

Yes – please get in touch to discuss your requirements and we will be happy to provide you with a quote.

Does leafleting work?

Leafleting is one of the most widely used and well established methods of advertising, and with good reason. In today’s electronic world, leaflets have more impact than ever, enabling your business to be heard above the riot of tweets, notifications, email advertisements and so on.

Research undertaken by Royal Mail found that 92% of people say they read leaflets that get delivered to their homes, and on average, such leaflets stay in the home for as long as 38 days because they find the information useful and want to refer back to it.

Don’t leaflets just end up in the recycling bin without being read?

There will always be people who discard their leaflets without a second glance, but the vast majority of homeowners will read hand-delivered materials at least once — 92% according to Royal Mail.

Part of the preparation for a leaflet drop is to calculate what response rate you need to make the campaign worthwhile. If you sell a product or service that makes £10 profit each time, you only need 5 customers from a drop of 1,000 items to cover the distribution cost. That’s a rate of just 0.5%, and Illuminas found rates much higher than that:

"For the following types of leaflets, how often do you take some further specific action (eg. obtain a quote, purchase something, or request/find out more information)?"

  • Financial 12%

  • Utility companies 13%

  • Interior household goods 15%

  • Taxis 15%

  • Leisure/entertainment 17%

  • Personal local services 17%

  • Communications 18%

  • Charities 24%

  • Exterior household goods 25%

  • Tradespeople 29%

  • Restaurants/takeaways 52%
